The 2006 Breakfast Lunch Training (BLT) Module, Meeting Children's Special Food and Nutrition Needs in Child Nutrition Programs was developed for:
(1) to help food service assistants understand and to apply the laws and regulations that require accommodations for children with special food and nutrition
(2) to familiarize the food service assistants with special needs frequently seen in schools, including diabetes, food allergies, and inborn errors of metabolism.
The four lessons are designed to be taught in approximately 30 minutes. Each lesson contains a pre- and post-assessment, talking points and presentation slides for the instructor, activities, video, and fact sheets. Published 2007. ET70-07
